I'm pretty racist towards anyone not born in America or Canada. If they are indian, black, asian, mexican, whatever, as long as they were born here in the US I'm comfortable around them. I mean as comfortable as I can be with men I don't know. People who were raised in other cultures make me nervous, especially Muslims, because they really don't like us.

there are a bunch of reasons other people have already pointed out but another thing at least from a european perspective is that indians seem to lack cultural soft power compared to other minorities. despite the fact it's a country of 1 billion people i genuinely can't name any contemporary indians apart from gandhi and i don't really know anything about their culture apart from some decent food, that they worship some weird half-animal gods and that they play cricket which is a sport pretty much nobody in europe apart from some posh english people are interested in. i can't think of any particularly great indian actors (in western cinema) or footballers or creatives or anything, they just don't really exist in pop culture. you'd be surprised how big a deal the existence of black, arab, asian etc personalities in the arts and in entertainment is for making people perceive those minorities more positively.

im south asian, not technically indian but even if i look racially ambiguous sometimes i dont care about being lumped with them -- substantial difference between first/second gen indians and third/fourth gen indians. The former ime tend to be pretty bad, ive met enough to say its not 100% of the time but yeah; first gen immigrant indian men in positions of power in workplaces like restaurants tend to be awful.... completely different at the law firm im at however. ive been sexually harassed by indian men, but also by literally every other ethnicity in the world so i cant say theyre unique in that front. i cant even say that theyre more transphobic than other ethnicities, because ive met a lot of indian men who like my style and look (in a non sexually derogatory way) to balance out the indian men who arent like that.i genuinely think the worst indians are first gen, old men who are generally uneducated and in positions of power in service industries. but every other indian has personally been fine to me, id put emphasis on age too -- they still have that older caste mentality ingrained in them, which i think is a big factor.ngl it doesnt help that the average indian men has horrible aesthetics and lacks any good sense of style...

Indian women aren't much better, I thought racism was stupid until I had to share a house with two of them and it's a miserable fucking experience. they have zero respect for me and I have zero respect for them. everything they do has some awful smell to it and if I ever attempt to fan out a room to get rid of it (not even the common rooms, like my own) they'll get pissy at me for "not respecting their culture" when half the things they cook burns my goddamn lungs.
they shower like a week and get angry at being able to see anything I own when they use the common spaces as a fucking religious shrine- I had a painting my mom gave me of my home province and they took it down because apparently the entire living room is now their sacred space and some painting of trees and the ocean is haram.anyhow, the only people I've seen stare at my tits were either bald white guys or Indian men who had all the women in their family wearing those fully body covering things. Having PTSD from the truth bombing going on. I dated top of the caste ladder and while I had an educated, rich, and intelligent partner for 5 years I got dumped by a single text saying my small town wasnt good enough for his ambitions. So much for the engagement and me driving 4 hours each way to see him every weekend or two.
Which was like groundhog day.
I had to force him to shower when I got there cuz I dont fuck unwashed people b4 the deed but every time I felt like I had to berate him like a toddler.
Did his laundry cuz he only wore one shirt to work ever and I could smell it over the piles of garbage, laundry, and whatever pizza boxes and dash trash that was under the bed or strewn about.
Dishes done by me... usually after months b4 I cracked.
If I picked him up from work I choked on the cologne he covered himself with b4 work.
Since both of us lived in Dubai b4 I mentioned that he smelled worse than a Pakistani cab driver there who had no AC and bathed in cheap perfume and that such an olfactory assault is highly frowned upon in this country.
The look I got for being honest was something else.
He then proceded to trash my country's national soccer teams without Googling (his answer to all my questions) and I retorted that the women won gold and the men are ranked better than yours too!
