That's nothing, anon. The REAL larperator helmet is from World War 1.

There was a slick plate carrier as part of the PASGT suite in the 90s; the ISAPO. Granted, it was supposed to be worn over the flak vest rather than as standalone; but it is for all intents and purposes a modern slick PC.

Not sure if it qualifies as "gear" but reflex sights have been around since forever. And as soon as stocked pistols, SMGs, and rifles, that used detachable mags started being issued, soldiers across the world informally started using dump pouches for spent mags. LARPers like to imagine that it's somehow a new invention despite them being in use since WWI. As if the concept of a bag strapped to their belt was just too advanced for anyone to think of before the GWoT.

Carbines with attached grenade launchers have been around for a century. The Italians were early experimenters with the concept and even adopted one for service in 1928.The regular carbine trigger also fires the grenade launcher. To launch grenades, the operator would remove the bolt from the carbine, insert it into the grenade launcher, shove a grenade down the muzzle of the launcher, and chamber a special grenade launching blank round in the launcher. The chamber of the launcher is cut to only accept blanks, so some retarded conscript doesn't chamber and fire a live round directly into a grenade.
