Ok so you REPLACE the center section, with a Mobik dispenser. They lay sideways like in a rifle magazine, maybe double stack who gives a shit, and you put them on rollers on a conveyor system in the APC mobik-box. There is a chute out the back to dispense mobiks timed to the engine speed. You shit them out the back off rollers laying prone in place. This means they can be dumped really fast. Of course this is an APC but IFVs are just drone bait.

Honestly only thing I'd do is swap the multi laser for a las cannon. Gives it a bit of anti armor fire power and you can use the bolter in the hull and firing port weapons for anti infantry work. They really should make a model and rules for that.

It doesn't really need much redesigning. The Chimera is already the most practical 40k tank.All I'd really say you'd need is to change the hull-mounted gun so it has some side to side traverse, and maybe remove the gimbaled lasguns in the back in favor of just regular firing ports for whatever arms the guys in the troop compartment are carrying.

the real issue is the really wonky doctrine that mech guard have the leman russ moves at the speed of a guy on a bicycle, so there isnt much point to having mech infantry to keep up with it and the russ is designed for infantry support in an infantry centric army, so either the mech infantry slow down to let the russ catchup or the russ gets left behind while the mech troops zoom out of the breakthrough without itthis essentially means mech infantry are entirely autonomous units who do not operate alongside tanks, something along the lines of a modern day stryker brigade rather than a soviet motor rifle battalion that you would imagine which also leaves open the question why they never invented a cruiser tank to go with the chimera
