Honestly, I'm leaning towards enlistment because I don't see anything in the civilian sector that feels as much like a path to success. >score high enough on the asvab and get to earn money while you study to become a skilled technical worker >get a job and give yourself experience in a world where no one can get experience to apply for entry level jobs that require experience. Granted part of this is just because the job market is fucked up but still. Enlistment legitimately feels like a fast track to success.

Has anyone here successfully gone Navy intel with one or both parents being permanent residents? For context, I ship out as a CTI soon. I’ve heard that during boot camp’s P-days they’ll re-evaluate my eligibility for this rate and can deny the job, despite having had my PSSQ approved by the IW community during classification at MEPS. One of my parents is a long-time permanent resident from Peru with no immediate family or foreign travel within the past 8 years. I’m also aware of the Navy’s requirements for both parents to be citizens, or from a low-risk country, as specified on the ICD-704, which I assume Peru is, based on my approval.
