Should Europe retire all of its outdated Challengers, Leclercs, Arietes, and Leopards (donating them to Ukraine) in order to replace them all with powerful Mitsubishi Type 10 Main Battle Tanks?

It seems odd that Japan would bother to develop their own main battle tank. I can see why during the cold war they would want to buy defensive tanks like the Abrams just in case of an invasion, but domestically producing one seems like a waste of resources.

You are not seriously asking this question - are you OP? Let's paraphrase it in such manner that it is bit more clear for you and maybe you realize why that would not be idea that anybody would be seriously considering. What is the total number of tanks currently in inventories plus ordered and waiting for delivery in European countries - how many thousands total? How many Type 10 tanks in total has Mitsubishi manufactured during its 16 year production run? Wikipedia says 147 total. So - what you are asking is should European countries donate all its thousands of tanks to Ukraine and try replacing them with Japanese Type 10, for which at Mitsubishi's current production pace is about 9.18 tanks a year. Considering that - about how many years would it take for Mitsubishi to replace them? Also, how many years might it generally take for tank to become obsolescent and how many years for it to become obsolete? This also while capabilities of Type 10 are limited from the start by it being designed to fit into strict maximum weight limit, sort of which NATO does not care to have in its tanks and Type 10 also being already somewhat obsolescent compared to latest European tank designs.Donating all tanks would basically dismantle tank corps of European NATO countries and make mechanized units working by their side also quite useless until their tanks could be replaced. This while at the moment there is a very real possibility that Russia - Ukraine War may soon escalate and turn into war in between Russia and NATO.I do not know what you are smoking OP, but you should stop right now.

Type 10 is a light tank that can't take the same amount of punishment as the Leopard or Challenger. And probably Leclerc.
