How would you train for drones when all you have is rifles?
I love shitting on ziggers and it's very funny "the worlds second military" hasn't rolled out a counter at scale after 4 years of losing ~30k men a month but this is unironically the best possible training for shooting at drones from the back of a truck.

have we discussed why they don't use shotguns for drone defense? i feel that anyone who has been skeet shooting or goose/duck hunting once would have no problem detecting and hitting a flying drone. Waterfowl loads seem perfectly adequate to bring one down easily. hell you could probably go even smaller than that.

If you want to train for the actual war you're going to fight this seems...good?
Ukrainians complain they go to western training courses and the training includes no drone warfare. If I was going to be sent to the Donbass and could pick any training course - then I still wouldn't choose Russia because it would probably only last 2 days and include anal rape and the theft of my equipment, but you get what I mean.I wonder if the instructor still has to put in a 1 ruble coin to turn on the ride.

This looks goofy as hell, but training to shoot from a shaking car when you're expected to shoot from a shaking car is not that retarded. If anything it doesn't go far enough and simulate how much you would be thrown around whilst actually driving at 100km/h and the wind.
The real critizism is why the fuck they'd bother to build this when they can just put two dudes on an actual car and drive them around whilst flying drones towards them.

Anon09/06/26, 18:45No.65486962
Seems pretty reasonable.

the coin car training seems kinda smart but i feel like it's just one step removed from just having a track with actual cars to actually simulate 1:1 the conditions of shooting a drone from a car, and you can even simulate different surfaces
the motorbike training is definitely the one you get to make you feel more secure without any actual relevancy in the field lol

It's just propaganda, not real training. Consider the target audience. Consider the actual casualty numbers. And consider the likely new mobilization that will happen soon.
Remember the old "duck and cover" civil defense films that they used to pacify the public into believing they could survive a nuclear attack? This is the same idea.
A

Every propaganda video is filmed in the same spot, lol.
Anyone remember the "Totally not staged Spetznaz Raids" in fields that looked just like this?

The sad thing isn't the idea that they train like this, the sad thing is that this clearly improvised device is how they want people to think they train. The shortcomings of the Zigger Wiggler or the simulated scenario don't even matter, the average conscript would be lucky to get to ride in it once before being sent on an infiltration mission with no weapon.

Doesn't seem a terrible concept by itself.>Hey, how do we deal with drones close up, when we don't have EWarfare or something?
>Just shoot them?
>Okay, what about when we're on a truck or a technical, and they're all zipping around?
>Well let's put you on a rig to act like bouncing suspension, and we'll fly some drones around you and you can take shots at them with a paintball gun.Sure, if it's Russia, odds are the follow-through on the training is going to not be so comprehensive, but from a 'this is what we're seeing' standpoint, it doesn't seem a terrible drill to do.
