Anything Japper runs exclusively off Rule of Cool. ESPECIALLY vidya. Resident Evil stands out for having customized weaponry for the protagonists long before most western media. The Samurai Edges and MGS3's 1911 are very well thought out, practical designs that could've been created within the time period.

RE9 did a better job than previous games at having the guns have the right ammo. the only notable exceptions are both of Grace's hand guns are .380 but use the same ammo as Leon's which are 9mm, but the box says .355, which could be either. And there are 3 enemy guns that are only used as bonus mode guns that use the wrong ammo. a torus judge, MCX and machine pistol

Why was the hospital staff armed with Beretta 1934s in .380 in 2026? I get the guy having one in 1990, but why arm them with that in current year? Why did Grace's mom and Grace both use a sig 232 in 2018 and 2026. Seems like a weird choice for a CCW in 2026, you would think the FBI would have issued her a real gun. Why the fuck did Victor bring Grace's handgun to the hospital and then randomly leave it on the bar? Why did Victor have 2 offices? Why did Victor randomly have a Winchester 70 leaning up against the wall in one of his offices? Why does the BSAA use a fucking Springfield M1A carbine out of all the .308 rifles they could possibly use? The other shit made sense. Leon, Z and Gideon all had anti bio weapon handguns based on real handguns, I guess except for Gideon. Gideon's revolver is like taurus judge in .45-70, which I guess isn't that outlandish. The mossberg 500 must have been in the facility and the doctor that chunk was eating must have been using it. The Uzi was probably in that car since 1998 and it makes sense for a 1998 gun, might have been Umbrella related. The only other thing that's weird is that Leon doesn't have any long guns in his car. It makes sense why he doesn't use a long gun before going to racoon city, he saw Victor and immediately jumped out of the car, though its weird he had the hatchet strapped to him while driving and then when he went to the hospital I guess he didn't want to walk in with a rifle on him since that would have looked weird, though again, the hatchet would have looked odd too. But it's weird he shows up in racoon city with just his 2 pistols and the shotgun and rifle he took from the hospital
