basically the big divergences are either>1) as above, so below
based on the theory that wizard and muggle life is more intertwined than either admits
the muggle battlefield becomes a proxy or the visible tip of a magical shadow war iceberg. this is more or less canon at least for WW2, as JK Rowling hinted that the Dumbledore-Grindelwald war was at the very least concurrent if not part of muggle WW2alternatively,

which is plausible because of how isolated wizard communities are, in SOME ways, from muggles
the problem is mudbloods, but canonically they make up such a tiny proportion of the wizard population that it would be easy to basically ignore their problems or deal with them ad hoc
halfbloods are more numerous and more intertwined and they would be the real problem
