It greatly depends on the locale. People in Frankfurt generally dress well if you exclude the obvious junkie and zutt issues. People in Berlin dress like angsty teenagers who want to show their parents how kewl and unique they are. People in the rural parts generally don’t give two shits and wear comfy clothes, from track suits to boomer jackets and caps.

Men wear t-shirts, often EPL team jerseys and jeans/tracks with sandals. Women are often more stylish and wear some sort of dress but often go out in t-shirts and sandals as well. We are very informal here and only dress up for formal events or when royalty are present. Even our royals dress informally unless on official business. I've seen the Sultan of Pahang go jogging outside his palace in shirt and tracks. He also goes to eat at roadside stalls wearing commoner clothing.
