I remember in school I asked my german teacher why they named a state/kingdom after bathing, and she got mad and said thats not what it means later I looked it up on both google and yandex translate, as well as several dictionaries. In fact, every time I'm in a bookstore, no matter how small the German section is here there's always at least a english-german dictionary from different publishers, and to this DAY I flip through to make sure bathe is baden. So now I have to ask, why the fuck did they name it that way? were there hot springs or a roman bath? I just want to know but they be getting defensive and secretive as fuck apparently
