Funny thing is they don't even care about the school, just it's credentials. They'll sit and listen to some researcher "teach" in broken English and then cram 4+ hours of studying a day to actually relearn what was presented.
Feels like they don't really get excited about education but accolades instead.

05/15/26, 15:44No.221515003The US education system has ways to filter people who only focus on rote memory, they look at what you do outside of school too. My cousin was a rather mediocre student who happened to be immensely talented at robotics, somehow the DoD found him and they're now giving him competitive contracts and he was put through to a top STEM uni. The guy is a bit autistic so he wasn't actively looking for them either, he can barely take care of himself.

this is true for every other ethnic group, tho. if you wanted to learn for learning's sake, then you would go to a public library instead of college
that said, i've talked to a high dropout (zoomer) at work and he is probably the dumbest person i have ever met. so i think that a diploma/degree is in the very least a sign that you are not mentally handicapped

College was far more based, regular people with actual jobs telling you how to do stuff that works IRL.BUT to work in certain fields, it is all about credentials and not at all about what you can do from a merit standpoint.
In certain fields it's more important to have an MBA designation and no experience simply because HR and the people above you think that's important and projects a certain "standard".
