i'll be real as a /beg/ or just someone who isn't artistically inclined the drawing on the left could be just as effort intensive as the drawing on the right. i remember someone calling a drawing i made "low effort" and all i could think is that i spent a few hours on it and was looking at several references

I would consider time spent on a drawing an improvement as well. Havent you done a drawing and then you reach a point you dont know what else to do to make it better and just consider it finished? Being able to keep making the drawing better and better is the extend of your skill.

Is it really normal to spend 10 hours on a piece? I can't spend longer than 30 minutes before my ADHD kicks in. Maybe that's why I suck

left could be a good example of a stopping point though. back then he may not have know how to proceed further than that.

No one's surprised that you need to stretch the truth and give normies the ol' razzle dazzle to build your profile. Especially on social media. We're all willing to sell out a little, this seems pretty mild for you to be upset about.
