Will the indie art scene ever go back to the early 2000's when people seemed to make money so easily online? And what was it that made it so easy in those days?

Since when did people make easy money with art in the early 2000s? Like, back when it was normal to charge $20 for commissions?

wild guess from a zoomer would be that the internet was new and it was way lower competition.

I didn't think people were making more money back then. Most of them were just doing it for love of the game.

Almost no one cared about making money online with comms in the 2000s, as opposed to now when every retard learns to draw just for that

It wasn't easy to make money lol. I think the moment when it became a career choice happened closer to late 2000s. In early 2000s, though, you could start building your online presence and gain audience + establish yourself as an artist more easily (low skill barrier and not enough content). You also could just draw good and become popular pretty quick, when nowadays no one will be impressed if you draw some crazy photorealistic shit, if that's the only gimmick you have.

Brainded fucking zoomer. It has never been as easy as it is today to make money from art , even with the credit card demons fucking up everything and Ai trannies getting their piece of the pie. You're just retarded, talentless and want a shortcut, we'll let me tell you, there isn't one. Get good, scrub

It's coming back but with AI instead.

I hate to tell you this anon, but that's literally what the scene is for people using AI right now, not to demoralize, but it's usually early adopters that milk the cash cow. Now, that isn't to say you should adopt AI, please don't, what that should make you ask yourself though, is what market is going to evolve in response to AI? Find that, and be one of the first.

OP, do you not understand the the ability to see the current market as it is and what potential ones will open up is literally what makes successful entrepreneurs? You're speaking through the lens of hindsight when you should be speculating on what future markets are going to be. All this is, is a practice in self pity

your best best is to make what you like. Is that a hard concept for you people?

otherwise you're not gonna last long. you're spending money to make AI shit, unlike with drawing where you don't have to spend anything.
