Guys what features should a frame by frame video player have besides the basics? All the ones on Android are buggy and thus I can't reliably jump between frames and I can't carry my pc every to use keyframe mP so I have decided to just vibecode my own app to be specialized for my needs.

Am I crazy as an animator for being excited to see AI being used like this? https://x.com/knightama/status/2103574269133468003This to me feels like what the movie Klaus did, where the entire movie was handdrawn 2d animation, but they created a program that could apply shadowing to a frame when you manually put in the right calculations for where it should be. They applied shadowing that way for every frame of animation, and it created consistent and detailed shadowing that would simply not have been possible to do by hand without the process taking 10 years. Using AI in this way, feels like an automated way of doing what SPA Studios did with shadowing in Klaus.If this was refined and made mainstream, it could mean SO much time and money that would usually be spent on outsourcing work to Indians and Koreans would be saved from the budget of 2d animation. Not only that, indie animators would be able to make much longer animations by themselves without needing to rely on investor demands to afford outsourcing.

Guys, i draw comics, i'm not interested in animation. Would be nightmare for my ego. I often see animation frames and they are such great illustration, such a shame they only seen for a split second. I love the clean style, little line variation, little hatching, eyes and hair is drawn differently compared to manga. Manga is less clean most of the time. But i want to learn some of the anime (like anime key frames not pixiv anime) style to implement in my manga. Is it just experience, do you have to animate to learn that, or what can i do?

I'm well past my perfectionist phase at this point to the point where if I notice a minor error only after scrubbing through the same frames a million times I won't bother addressing it since theres a 99.9% chance no one will catch it regardless. Welp, I'll let ya'll in on a secret. If you ever want your animations to give off vibes from the decade you were born here's one way that kinda worked for me, though it's gonna sound a bit extreme:Animate the entire thing naked (for the most part.)I'm serious, dont even wear glasses, etc. >Why? Because you were born in that decade, meaning you didn't have clothes yet, so it's like you're returning to those roots, more or less (in my opinion). You could also do it in the company of someone older than you who was around in that decade instead, but I found the former method to be just as effective if not more.With that said here's a remake of an old Richard Williams animation I made last year.
