Its okay bro, your trying and thats what matters. The only way you could improve is these blocks right here your facing.I feel like these methods like color theory and rendering overcomplicate them to confuse you. Its much better you go off reference's and intuition. About rendering, you can simpify it into 4-5 shades. Then blending the inbetweens. Il give an example of a shiny shoe. You first do the lightest base layer, then one for the darkest parts, then go a little lighter for the mid tones, then lighest white for highlights. You can literally prepick the 4 shades before and put them in like blocks. Between the shades you get a blending brush or whatever to soften the contrast. You need a good reference of what your drawing to know where these shades will go(unless you have good memory)About doing a complex piece. Its the same thing but your doing it in sections. try to focus on one section at a time. So for a whole human. You do the shoe separately, then The leg, then the body. Only once its all done, highlighted will it suddenly shock you wow it looks beautiful. It takes time, like these artists take hours on just a leg or arm. They take 30 minutes picking colors. So take it slowly. Here is an example
