So I picked up this starter kit but I've never really painted before, at least nothing that I didn't throw away afterwards.
It might sound like a very stupid question but like how do I paint something, like let's say I want to paint some woods or the sea or some shit, what's my first step in learning how? How do I put colors on that page.

Do people genuinely work at absurd resolutions, or are they just working at normal res then upscaling when they export?I’ve always shared work at base res but I want to be able to share stuff in higher quality. So, I’m wondering if I need a larger canvas size when I start a project or if I only need to set my export settings higher?Is there a noticeable difference either way?

How do I blend colors in procreate? Everyone says use smudge that isn’t blending. I just want to blend some colors without taking 30 seconds to turn red+yellow into an orange that isn’t even correct. Photoshop and CSP can do it in brush settings but is seems like Procreate can’t

Ive been interested in drawing for years but i hadnt drawn for more than maybe 20 hours total in the whole of my life including childhood.
Why is that?
I also dont like the act of drawing. It brings no joy to see the end result because i suck and the act of it makes my fingers hurt and bores me.In spite of all of this i still daydream about drawing/being good and would like to accomplish it. I just dont think its possible.

ive studied fundies, drawn for fun, copied. yet i still cant draw ANYTHING after a year. its always le simple shapes and i cant do ANY of them, i draw something that just barely resembles a shape, and dont get me started on anatomy. when i copy, the end result is something that's barely recognizable. when i draw for fun i get a rush during the moment of drawing it then see the end result and seethe. i have NO sense of perspective despite everything. what the hell do i do at this point? am i legitimately retarded

Hi! does anyone know what mode they used to get this orange glow effect on the train in this example? I'm guessing they used airbrush but i cant replicate it. Even in the lowest opacity, im unable to get similar results.
