So I'm sitting down, staring at a blank sheet and all I really know is I want to draw cute stylized girl heads (anime-ish/cartoony):
1. How do I get the creative juices flowing? For hairstyles, different eye types, character concepts, etc.
2. How do I make it feel like I'm using structure to draw my heads in a deliberate way instead of just making random lines and hoping they end up looking good? I seem to not be able to picture anything in my mind and then I just shit something out randomly by mindlessly drawing. I don't like this process/feeling.
I'll stop shitting up the catalog with these types of threads after this. Thanks.

1. This is not really a drawing problem, it's more of a lifestyle issue. Refer to pic related and remember that garbage in equals garbage out. Take note of what hairstyles and character concepts appeal you in media or real life, save them in a folder or Pinterest, refer back to them when needed. Broaden your intake of culture, get one of those coffee table books on art history or fashion or even architecture. There's potential reference material all around you to be used as fuel for character design.2. You're not going to like the answer, but for structure it's Loomis.
