So far historians have failed to find any archaeological evidence of it or any genetic evidence which is difficult to understand since from the topography of Scotland it would have been all encompassing on the level of the Anglo-Saxons in England. And there's not any real written evidence of it with Irish and English chronicles recording nothing of Kenneth's actions in Scotland generally despite them regularly noting various wars there and Irish people would presumably be especially interested in their fellow countrymen in Argyll finally taking over Pictland after centuries of oppression Even the much more advanced Norman government of England somehow had less impact than historians claim these Dalriatans did Is there actually anything at all to support it?

>Picts start calling themselves 'Scots', a term that used to mean Irish from Ireland >they start speaking Gaelic, like the Irish, instead of Pictish, which we still struggle to decipher >one of their provinces is named 'Atholl' which means 'New Ireland' it's weird, Dal Riata seems smaller and it might have only been elite replacement/assimilation at first, but you've gotta explain this somehow and at least here the historical chronicles and linguistics line up.
