What cooking oil did the Germans and the Soviets use on the Eastern Front during the Second World War?

No physical evidence for battle of stalingrad.
The German and Soviet forces were identical because hiwis and other non German forces joined the Nazis. As a result the equipment was the same.
Cooking oil was issued as a vegetable oil ration and neither side had alternatives before America began exporting it.
It took until the sixties for basedbean oil to become common and WW2 was definitely vegetable oil.
