Honestly I don't give a fuck about file size or quality, as long it is above a certain personal acceptable threshold (archiving and preservation shouldn't be done with web-based tools anyways, use torrent instead)
I just want to read shit, discard the bad ones (that's more than 99% of the stuff I read) and maybe archive the good ones.
Schale is packed with annoying ads and popups, so I usually avoid their web reader and just download to read locally.
Nexus' release schedule is slower but steady and bs-free. Its delay doesn't hinder my experience because I can simply read the older ones and cherry-pick newer ones from my favorite artists and series as they're released.
No need to rush, our dicks won't fall off in the next 5 years.
