In a round about way you could say yes. You need to be a “digital designer” more so than just a graphic designer nowadays. you’re able to network better when you can do graphic design, motion design, rendering, music etc.I couldn’t imagine being a successful designer now without being able to render my own assets via 3D or AI or whatever

I thought that in 2023 but now people find out they can't use a 1024x1024 image as print and frustrate themselves unable to generate just a simple line of text, I think AI showed it could not replace me at least. I do cheat, I generate some elements to get the whole idea but it's inevitable, we got to work to get quality.

Not completely but yeah, that new ChatGPT image 2 is insane, I use it to make flyers when I get requests at work. I already saw some chick that's not a graphic designer using it and trying to rub my face in it. I probably have less than 2 years left before I'm fired or the career is just completely done. The only thing it can't really do is specialized things, like using branding and fonts for the company I work for, making a booklet etc...so right now it's a life saver for knocking out posters and flyers, but soon it will be a career ender, probably with the next release of Nano Banana

Graphic design was never really a real profession. It was always something unemployed people tried to do for money. AI taking jobs is a cope because there were never enough jobs to call it a legitimate profession anyway - at least not since the internet started
