So does anyone have a real answer to what is the plan after AI gets good and cheap enough to do the majority of people's work? Hard mode: no dystopian killer bots genociding the unemployed and no vague "uhh, well who is gonna repair the robot!" Shit.

Higher rates of unemployment obviously. unemployment rates vary already so just look at places with high unemployment to see the future. But I don't think AI will ever be very good or cheap. It can replace most people but assume it'll be more expensive and incompetent. What happens when everything is really expensive and half-assed? That's the more likely outcome given current trends.

If it becomes super intelligent and infinitely beyond us, I guess we just party and live like dogs do with us. Maybe we'll have hobbies and stuff to do and compete with each other, but a lot of people just won't do work. And then whoever is pulling the strings behind the scenes will cut the plug and we'll all be weak and docile, so they can take over easily.

There's no real answer because we don't know how good or cheap the AI gets in the short or long term. But if it does get cheap and good enough for mass job displacement governments will have issue some form of UBI to keep the economy rolling.

Only the strong will survive. Those with a spine, a firm hand shake, a good attitude and a winning smile. The doers. The hustlers. The salt of the earth. Those with grit. Those who wake up in the morning and think “another day to be great.”I’m gonna be real with you, it won’t be easy. Things will change. Your expectations will need to be adjusted. What you know now, is now how it will be. As it always was, people don’t think it be like it is, but it do.So yes, it’s gonna be rough. You’re gonna need to be tough. Nothing about this will be easy. But then again, nothing in life worth doing ever was.Ask yourself, what kind of man are you? What will I do with my time here?

this discourse is always retarded. what did we do after mass food production, shelter, and transportation? give 99.99% of the population useless email and hr jobs. literally nothing is going to change if "robots do all our jobs" (this is ragebait not based in reality, not one single person has legitimately "lost their job to ai")

If the local government let it go rampant this means mass unemployment. Some countries will regulate it based on company revenue x minimum work force. The tech field will take the most hit, might even lose the all the universities courses and become blue collar like pumbling.
