i speedran the mythical man month with multi-agent configs. they're all stupid and they greatly exacerbate AI-tisms like test bloat and tediously overspecified requirements. just direct a single generalist agent in normal conversation do everything, indefinitely without switching sessions. disregard AGENTS.md or other context templates, in fact remove or severely reduce them down to a few basic hints to do less <thing that annoys you>. don't even manually compact context. if there's something your generalist isn't the best at, have it sketch out a plan for <thing>, then it asks the stronger model what it would do, then it decides how to synthesize the two.example: have opus 5.5 high do everything. but if you're designing the overall architecture or API, have it take a stab at it then call up fable high for an alternative. or if there's some math/algorithm/concurrency concern, do the same calling up astra xhigh. if you're too poor for opus 5.5 high do everything, then have deepseek do everything and pick your poison for which stronger model to occasionally query.the exception is general reviews and bug sweeps. then just launch a few complementary models in parallel worktrees, especially chinese ones (for me GLM 5.3 / Flash has turned up a lot of concurrency bugs Opus Astra and Fable missed) and copy paste their reports and directories to your do-everything guy
