I gave my brother my old desktop and after 1.5 years I realized he took off the wooden board I put there and had it sitting on the carpet. It has pretty tall legs so nothing happened but even so he's retarded. Its a 4790k+1080ti

Go to any DIY store and just buy a cheap thin piece of MDF to slide under it. It's enough. I wouldn't risk a carpet even if the odds of issues are low.
