When you install the MATE or XFCE versions of this distro, do they use the default DE or is it customized to look like Cinnamon? The screenshots on their website look all the same between the different DE versions.Also is MATE even usable in current year?

mate existed before poetteringware and will exist after poetteringware, just like X11. mate is usable in 32mb instead of 32gb, just like X11. drop all the desktop daemons and use X11 like kde did ( https://github.com/loosestrife/matchbox202x ) and gnome 1 didnt bcause gnome 1 wanted to be based on corba because miguel de icaza wanted to work for microsoft
