I know this gonna sound like cope but it's not THAT impressive. The AI did the thing AI has been really good at so far: it found an obscure paper and managed to create a counter example. While the proof is impressive it's not new math that is going to allow us to do things differently. We now just know that the equations we use to simulate fluid mechanics are incomplete and breakdown under certain circumstances.
