I was excited when I saw the announcement because I thought the logical place to go after the RG DS would be "Just barely powerful enough for 3DS games at the lowest price possible" (even though "the lowest price possible" has gotten a lot higher due to hardware prices), but this looks like complete garbage. It costs $220+ for some kid's battered New 3DS XL, I'd immediately throw my money at a company that made something even a tiny bit cheaper that was decent at 3DS + could emulate other systems better than a modded 3DS. (I could be overly optimistic about this, I don't know enough about hardware to know whether it's feasible to emulate the 3DS well at that price range. AFAIK 3DS emulators aren't that well optimized due to C&Ds by Nintendo disrupting development + most people's PCs are more than powerful enough anyway.)

Yeah, you can still pull up a browser in some kind of emergency, but the fact that these emulators mostly run as fullscreen app with little need to return to a home screen is one of their best benefits, as you can go outside or take a shit or whatever and be free of constant fucking notifications and doomscrolling and what have you. adding a second screen in just increases the temptation to give yourself more distractions that will make life miserable.
