Went back and tried it again today from the kit. This is still the sexiest thing I've ever smelled in my life. I don't know who I would prefer to wear it more, myself or my gf. She has endeavored to buy it instead of me (I bought her some frags, so she feels she owes me), but she's a brokie so it will be a while. I have no idea what these fucking Romanians put in this shit, but it should probably be illegal.

A few threads back I mentioned my cool experience with a niche seller [/fa/thread/18737314#p18738087] that invited me to a Masterclass. Went to the event yesterday, cool experience where the guy from Tom Ford gave some explanation as to why Soleil Neige was changing between collections and getting a new bottle for the Signature line, no changes in formulation supposedly. Also went into some other Tom Ford frags and gave some tips on layering them. All of this just for the store to sell more frags I know, but at least I got to leave with a few samples, the Tom Ford frag and two PdMs, Pegasus and Valaya Exclusif. Currently trying Soleil Neige which is nice, a soft velvety frag with citrus but very much a cozy white floral. This would be the perfect frag to sleep with or give as a gift to any woman, soapy bliss. >SOTN Soleil Neige

I just sampled Kouros for the first time since it seems hard to find in stores. Holy shit this reminds me of my Greek grandparents, I had nostalgia upon just smelling a test strip. Strong, a bit like Eau Sauvage, but brings back vivid memories of being dragged to Orthodox Church with them. A shame it seems like newer versions are not even as good as the original.

Apparently there are some clones of Kouros from back in the 90s, but strangely they're all discontinued. I looked up The Man Silver and Imperia Legacy, both released and then discontinued shortly despite allegedly being very similar to Kouros from the turn of the 90s. What's up with that?

I wanna talk about Orto Parisi Is there a lot of variation in batch performance? I like my Megamare but it's not nearly as nuclear as people make it out to be. I've also tried Viride, which is quite nice but slightly too bitter, and Risvelium, which is not very good and has a kind of ashy backbone that I dislike Are there any others from the lineup that are as good as Megamare and have the same year-round dumb reach potential? I've heard good things about Brutus and Bergamask.

i didn't like platty ego the first time i wore it a couple years ago. trying it again now and i like it a lot more, but i feel like the drydown after the initial shaving foam smell goes away becomes "sour." not sour like the bottle has gone off, sour like an herbaceous metal sort of thing.

Not buying perfumes anymore. Homemade one with just essential oils in jojoba is just as good, and costs a fraction. Performs great, projects poorly but most perfumes go to skin fast anyway. Boring, but only because I know what's in it, and because I know it's not what I wanted to capture. Still good. Gonna start experimenting more.A bottle of boring ass TDH costs like a dozen 5ml vials of cheaper absolutes, or like three vials of seaweed or tobacco absolutes. That's not even wholesale prices.

New things.First is the Une Nuit Nomade discovery kit. Came with an extra sample of Sun Bleached, a handwritten message on a postcard, and a discount code.This is strangely the heaviest kit I've ever received despite others I own with double the samples. The box is deceptively heavy. I have no idea what it's made out of, but it's a lot heavier than cardboard. The samples each have their ingredients and so forth written on the back of the box (once the sleeve is removed). I would take a picture I'd rather everything potentially not fall out.

got some more cool stuff today >1978 Eau Sauvage EDT holy man, we are getting so scammed with the current stuff. This is so much better, it feels like an EDP compared to the modern blend. The florals are more pronounced, the citrus is brighter, and the oakmoss is really mossy and rugged. I thought the current EDT is still one of the best mass-produced men's fragrances available, but the vintage really takes it to another level. >2001 Eau d'Hermes 2001 obviously isn't anything too crazy as far as vintages go, but still could have some pre-regulation ingredients. Not too much to say about it other than it's great. I'd wear it on days where it's too hot to wear Antaeus but not so hot that I'd want something fresh. Has a very mid-century european estate kind of vibe. Wears mature but not old fashioned. This also happens to be my first Hermes that's not a modern mass-market release, which has made me very interested in exploring other releases from them.>please don't rotate my image

>SOTD Genuinely a beautiful fragrance. Wet, cold stone with a bit of woodiness in the opening, like patchouli/oakmoss without any of the warmth. Borderline clinically clean-smelling in a good way. Heretic has been hit-or-miss for me in the past but I'm obsessed with this. It's funny they released it for their summer line, I think it'll be absolutely killer in the fall/winter.Also the packaging is great, came with a booklet of "police records" detailing the scents in the collection.
