is it worth paying hundreds of dollars for a pair of sunglasses from a high end brand? on one hand i feel stupid paying that much for a piece of plastic and glass, otoh, does that really matter if i'm getting years of use out of them?

I bought Ray Ban's over 10 years ago that are still just fine today and look new. I've dropped them many times. What do you think? Do you spring for quality that will last or some trash that's gonna break?

>is it worth paying hundreds of dollars for a pair of sunglasses from a high end brand? If it's Luxoticca trash, no.In general, though, if you can take care of things, then a pricey purchase can be fine. If you lose or destroy your sunglasses every summer, don't bother buying anything nice.

Depends on a lot of factors. As for OTS shades, I bought 714s because the folding mechanism actually serves a purpose for me. If I were to by non folding shades I would always by individual Non branded frames (maybe some genuine turtoise shell from a vintage frame dealer) and have high end glass installed in a shop. Might be on the expensive side of things but I prefer having few things that I look after. Generally speaking, don’t by branded plastic trash, its a waste of money.

Luxury can be good, but the key is seeing and feeling them in person. A lot of "luxury" items are equivalent to cheap quality and design, they just have a logo on them. They are basically just gas station glasses with a logo, they have no weight, no workmanship.

I'd say that you either buy gas station disposable cheapies that you lose under the car seat every summer or you spring for non-luxottica luxury that's not made in some shithole. Everything in-between these two tiers is a more of a waste of money being the worst of both worlds. I for one have a pair of Matsuda, but I realized I don't dress cool enough in order to style them so they sit in a drawer as a costly mistake. And now that I've become older and fatter I've basically missed the window entirely. Boomer gas station cheapies it is for me then kek

So buying expensive sunglasses is actually bad for you? You're not just poor and unfashionable, you're making a conscious health choice to buy gas station sunglasses?Just out of curiosity, how many of you guys also post in the watch threads?

I like my prescription sunglasses, they look like mirrored aviators. I wonder if you sightfags would be able to get them without needing vision correction? I was able to pick out the exact mirror color and lens tint from their lookbooks and if I only mildly damage them the optometrist will fix them up for free.

I love the look of the Ray Ban reverse Caravans. But I heard that the reverse lenses have an issue of unwanted light spilling into them from the edges. The look is nice, but the design choice seems counter-intuitive.Has anyone else bought Concave lensed sunglasses?

the lenses in cheap glasses are shit. do you want to look through transparent trash bags all day or something that's refreshing and pleasant?
