Just fyi chainstitch hemming is not a lost art or anything, it's just that the particular Union Special machines used to chainstitch back in the day had a design defect that caused that diagonal "roping" effect, in reality a properly done chainstitch isn't supposed to do that.

Does washing with bio or non-bio detergent make a big difference with fades? I feel like washing with more harsh detergents would give you a sort of "grainier" fade pattern at the end like the stone wash jeans of the past if that makes sense.

Need some actual advice.Bought some Denime 66, they look ok, but the cut isn't really my thing. Also bought some Momotaro B0205SP but admittedly they are a size larger then I would like, thing is, it's giving me the infamous diaper butt which I'll do anything to avoid.
