I dont even see how wearing nice clothes is "flexing"?. Like im supposed to purposely buy cheaper quality clothes because wearing a "designer" jacket/shirt/whatever makes other people feel bad? Watch people get that all the time, they have to buy shitty cheap watches to wear casually because people give you dirty looks if you casually wear an Hublot to the grocery store.

Flexing wealth is insecurity. You need to convince people that you have money because you're worried they'll think you don't have money, likely because you don't actually have money.If you actaully had money, you would see no point in doing this, because you do have money, if anything, you would realize that letting people who don't already know you know you have money is a bad idea, it brings nothing but trouble.

I’m technically a millionaire but it’s all tied up in a patch of humble real estate in a relatively small town and I make just $80k per year at 33 so I don’t really feel like I have wealth to flex nor would I even know how to flex it.
