The good thing about working with smaller brands is that they often have a larger budget. For instance I can use a wonderful aged patchouli that the larger brands employing me wouldn’t use due to it not being cost effective or scalable. I do use some rather expensive naturals, but very rarely and only for one brand I work for.

I got a bottle of L'Artisan Parfumeur Premier Figuier. It's more fig leaf than fig fruit but it's still quite enjoyable. It starts green, leafy and fresh which lasts for a bit before turning more into a pine woody scent. It's subtle and doesn't project much but it's quite nice, the only part that lasts a bit is the pine in the base and that can smell a little generic and cheap. Fig leafs themselves don't have much of a smell so maybe making it stronger would turn too synthetic. I don't pick up any fig fruit myself and the other notes just make the main notes really smooth and soft, there is no sharpness to the composition.

>Stetson - oddly unisex for something named after a cowboy hat company. Cold weather only, but a nice sorta warm smell.
>Jovan Musk - way less stanky than you’d think for the name. Weird combo of like, orange cream, soap, and sweat. Love it, in a weird way, but probably divisive.
>Cool Water - solid hot weather vibe, edgier/retro compared to Voyage or the Azzaro
>Brut - I bought a bottle of this in like 2017 as a joke, and it was so weirdly good. Grassy, creamy, sweet but also vegetative. Every bottle or related product I’ve tried since smelled nothing like it. I’ve heard the EU version is better, but that’s like $20 and that’s silly for Brut.Didn’t like Dylan Blue, smells way too much like body wash, VpH smells good, but also too boring plain lemony, kinda the voyage problem.Anyway - trying to cut down to 3-5 or fewer.
