I want to apply a cosmetic patch to my jacket. I believe the patch is iron on. The problem is that the jacket itself is a cheap polyester puffer. How would I go about doing this? Is it even possible? Picrel, its the jacket.

I'd consider using a heat gun or something to activate the hot glue on the patch then slap it on the polyester. Using an iron or heat gun on the jacket might fuck it up but the hot patch might not. Or just stitch it on best you can by hand, I guess.

Hand sew a velcro patch on the outer fabric only

How cheap? Like Costco cheap?I have an old puffy for reservist shenanigans and I've tossed it, but gorilla tape helped really extend it's lifespan.

Funny, have a Columbia jacket I was looking to do that to for ages, but never got to actually do it; my idea was to get an embroided logo made off AliExpress, and even got the period appropriate svg logo, but I like the velcro patch idea

easy, iron the patch on like normal but be slow. use a super low iron setting and put a thin fabric between the iron and the jacket/patch like a dish towel to further reduce the heat. only iron the area of the patch, not like a wide radius around it

using a iron on low (without steam) on polyester is fine, I did it on setting 2/3 and it didn’t burn anything and melted the fusible web for the felt fine. just don’t expect it to remain on, I sewed the felt on mine after using the appliqué glue to keep it in place.

Liquid stitch. You are welcome.
