I have been thinking of using cargo containers as makeshift mushroom farms by installing a solar powered HVAC system and hydronicsJust something basic like oyster mushrooms.

How do you guys deal with energy loss in the system? They need fresh air so obviously you vent to the outside and then replace the lost air by sucking in new air. However if there is a large temperature difference you need to heat/cool the fresh air. As an added problem there will be a huge dampness loss and you have to rehumidify the new air.So what can i do to avoid this energy trap? Obv a heat exchanger would be viable but imo they are only viable after a certain size of growroom. And venting towards the inside is also possible but i would like to avoid that for health and smell reasons.Thaughts?Lions mane is my fav but i also like oyster for mass and would like to forage and cultivate some "exotic" ones for variety.

It's been years since my last monotub grow. I've been successful with some beginner varieties, while not so much with the expert sorts. Growing mushrooms is tricky.

I get loads of coffee grounds are they any use? I’d kinda like to grow mushrooms, but like as in not getting a full now hobby and investing lots of hours and money but as in ‘put the coffee grounds in x and add y’Is that possible or should I not bother?

Logs are a very slow method of cultivation, so I haven't gotten a chance to see results yet. Really hoping my logs really will fruit for ~5 years like the guides say. I've got a few acres of maples trees. Mushroom cultivation is my new use for branches/trees brought down by storms.

I have some grain spawn that I started but don't really want to go through the trouble of making bulk tubs.I see people burying spent tubs in their yard and getting more flushes. Can I bury the spawn itself and get flushes or does it need to have been spawned to bulk first?I live next to a police officer, will he know what I'm doing if I bury a jar of white grain or a tub of colonized coir?

i know this is not exactly on topic but does anybody know a real effective no bs method of getting rid of mold in bathrooms?? internet gives me conflicting info. some say bleach, some say no bleach actually vinegar, some say not vinegar hydrogen peroxide etc. what's the true way to get rid of that shit? (without hiring professionals ofc, i don't think there's even anyone who does that in my area)

Oh shit, Monicas! I'm trying to perfect the ratios of water to ingredients when making my plates since I do no pour tek. I use reusable plates but when I followed pour teks the condensation started making them too moist. I'm getting there.

I remember watching a video of a guy who figured out how to grow mushrooms or fungi to be as hard as bricks. His brick fungi was also water resistant and fire resistant and had a cool concept of using it as building material. This was maybe 10+ years or so ago and to this day, always look back at how cool of a concept that was of being able to make houses out of fungus but never heard anything like or from this since. I don't know much but fungi but did anything ever come from this and was it really possible to grow them to be that hard?

Not a real diy question but more of an observation about cubes, I grew golden teachers my first few times and the microdosing was great. Exactly what Id been looking for. i switched to pes amazonias recently and turns out that microdoses on em feel very different, like I'm tripping, except at a very low threshold if that makes sense. Id get that body load feel I am very familiar with, start feeling the inside of my sinuses like when Im tripping, instead of just feeling that familiar gentle nudge towards a more peaceful state of being like I get with goldens.What gives ? Is this species-driven or dosage driven ? id be tempted to say its species driven because even though amazonias are notably stronger, I get the same effects with lower dosages.Tl;dr why do 0.300g amazonias feel trippier than 0.600g golden teachers ?

We got plenty tall growing guava-like trees here, massive clumps of them to make stuff out of; anybody got any guides on outdoor like boxed in coconut coir? Like an inoculated brick that's wooden caged over with rotting wood for them to grow off of, suspended in the air? To prevent ground bugs, I'm pretty sure oyster mushrooms would be fine
