So i'm trying to run a washer via filling it with a bucket instead of a household supply, it does nothing and the drain hose is locked open. Am i correct in assuming that it has a safety shutoff that prevents it from functioning unless at least the cold water inlet has pressure? The manual seems to indicate that it does.
How do i bypass that so i can get it to run just by filling it with a bucket?

Doubt. Where’s the “safety” in that?
Drains from the bottom.
Raise hose to stop draining.
Lower hose to drain.
Send the water far away from the well.Really you want to get one of those 3rd world models that are designed to operate in those conditions

I've seen a level sensor that incorporates a "no spin/ no agitate" switch, but never one of the water service valves. They are just "dumb", solenoid fired valves.

if you really want to be a cheapskate id recommend using gravity to generate water pressure. every foot in height of water column adds .43lbs of water pressure. hook a hose to the washing machine inlet and run it uphill. idk how much pressure your machine needs, but most need like 10-20psi of water pressure to operate. so youre looking at like 24-48ft in elevation difference.

Thinking about doing something similar with my new "eco-friendly" bullshit washer. Something is wrong with it, I think. It's supposed to be auto-sensing, but it just fills and fills. You could put 2 t-shirts in and it will still fill the whole machine up. There is no way to manually set anything.Fucking piece of shit.
