I have to build a fence so crackheads don’t break into my shed to steal shit. How do I do it best? The fence has to be 4 meters wide. There are no rules against what kind of fences are allowed where I live. Is barbed wire a meme? What about spikes? Thanks

As a rancher, no barbed wire is not a meme. Every time I even look at the stuff I'm already bleeding...If you do put some at the top of your fence it will deter someone from climbing over as they are way more likely to get tangled in that shit.

Razor wire is better but will give that prison shithole vibe. There are anti climb fences but are likely expensive and someone with an angle grinder or even bolt cutters can probably get in.

In addition to the fence, flood lights and a Ring camera go a long way. Junkies can always defeat a fence if given enough time. This puts them on a timer.

when I was about 16 (1980) I designed and built a chain link fence for our front yard. All I did was look at existing fences and did that.why are you so stupid you can't do this without help?

Just put a meter of square mesh, a foot of tensile wire, and a foot of rambling vine.There's no way to really break through square mesh and it provides little purchase for people climbing, tensile wire can't really be grabbed, and as there's only a foot of it and it's above ground level good luck to anyone trying to worm through. The rambling vine denies anything to grab onto which will bear weight, it extends wider than the fence so frustrates boosting. Someone would have to get a second person to ladder over and even then it spoilt be very hard to jump over cleanly or to get back.This kind of setup isn't very expensive and doesn't tend to violate building codes, as the fence part isn't especially tall, you can see through it.

The fence will only intrigue them. Plant thick, thorned bushes 2 rows deep in a perfect ring around your property. Make sure they grow at least 4 feet high and don’t have too strong a structure that someone could throw a rug over and crawl across. You really want to just make it very difficult, painful, and unpleasant to get through so you have time to get your gun and put a round in the air before they can extract themselves from the foliage.

tilting the fence out increaseing height seem to be the easy factors.
