>Even in popular culture, brotherhood is retarded in a higher light than friendship.
Both are equally valid and serve their own purpose, especially friendship if we're talking about only-children or boys who are raised in female-only households. If we can create friendships between boys that share that brotherhood sentiment, then we can almost guarantee a generation of boys who are not alone, who have one another, and who love each other.>I would do a lot of my life over. But if given the option, I wouldn't even bother.
We want what we can't have, but we must accept the reality we've been given. The most you can do is change your perception about your situation and how you handle it. Are you letting it overwhelm you and control you? Are you letting desires occupy your mind to the point that it goes beyond escapism? Ideally, you should take your past and invert it to focus on the good that can come out of it. If you were bullied and helpless in your past, how can you now be a provider, a helping hand, a brother to someone now who needs it? How can you provide that affection and warmth that you didn't receive to someone who is also hurting?
