House centipedes. I get these fuckers are pest removers, basically less messy and less efficient spiders But how the fuck do I stop having actual heart attacks seeing one at 2am in the garage? It's maybe one a year that I see one but I saw two over the last month and I'm about to lose it

Capture one in a live trap. Dump it in a jar or whatever. Stare at it for ~15 minutes and let it go. You are now aware it is a stupid reddit bug that eats roach shit and wants to fuck, you are exactly the same, and you can both move on with your lives.

I pretty much got over my fear of everything by handling -- there's all kinds of videos if you need tutorials.I never had a problem w/ snakes and spiders, but wasps was the first thing I was afraid of. Turns out not much to be afraid of if you follow protocol. So handling house centipedes was fairly easy after wasps.Now I like them so much that one time I saw one in the garage like you did but I relocated it inside my room

I'm not scared of the centipede itself, I'm startled by the sudden spider-like movement. Once I learn it is a centipede, I am chill.
