those bears were taking space reserved for the precious indians, they are a 3 billion minority.

There was a minor scandal last(?) year IIRC when a group of hunters came to a local official and said "hey this bear is getting into everyone's shit and has zero fear of humans, we need to kill it before it kills somebody" and the local official said "no" and then the bear killed someone and then the local hunters said "it's your problem now, retard" and refused to hunt it for him so he had to call in the army and waste a ton of taxpayer money on what the hunters were willing to do for free.The amount of red tape around weapon possession in general and hunting in particular in Japan is absolutely insane and it's becoming even more of a problem as the countryside continues to atrophy.
