Why did the honey colored oldschool Goldens get out of style so fucking badly? I rarely see them around anymore. Only the really yellow ones and just as yellow and bland Labradors.

Inbreeding. Goldens are also getting aggressive and their lifespan is trending towards the max age the AKC allows dogs to breed at. Shocker.
Pet fancy is dysgenics. There is no factual argument against this.The hyper-majority of non-landrace dogs are severely dysgenic and the hyper-majority of traits dog people believe to be functional enhancements derived from “breed purpose” are not, and are purely deformities. Additionally the “purposes” of most breeds are entirely contrived.
The only difference between canine and feline dysgenics is cat people admit they just like to genetically torture animals into becoming funny looking retards.

STOP READING MY MIND!!! I was thinking exactly this an hour ago, before you posted this because I saw my neighbour's this morning and was remembering how active and energetic it was 12 years ago, when he first got the dog and how this thing is way past its prime and still going for walks and looking happy. "He's a good pet owner", I thought this morning and "why have I never seen any other red labs but that one?" an hour ago.

I never understood the appeal of Labradors. Goldens always look so loving and sweet while Labradors just look pretty dumb and completely lacking personality
