Why are humans so fascinated by lions, if they’re objectively dumb, brutal, treacherous animals? Male lions kill all cubs that aren’t there after taking over a pride, most male lions die without objective to other male lions, females readily betray their families for stronger males too. They have little to no bonds or loyalty snd only care about sex and food.

Aesthetics, you retard. Wolves are much cooler, though.

Literally not a single animal you see on a coat of arms fits noble and good ideals. Lions and tigers kill each other’s babies. Eagles are thieves and scavengers. Chickens and wolves are cannibals. Bears are cannibals, thieves, scavengers and kill each other’s babies. Horses and bulls are dumb as rocks and will lash out at the slightest fright. Projecting human ideals on a dumb animal doesn’t work

That's what makes them kino animals. Their lives are like Shakespearean tragedies.

A good deal of male animals kill the young of other males to cause females to go into heat. Likewise many males ultimately die because of younger, stronger males.

You appear to insinuate that lions would be more virtuous had they been meek cuckolds.

They were lumped in with griffons, dragons, unicorns and deemed equal in power in regions where they were now extinct and have presence in religion. Pretty sure. That and uh, well, they occasionally rocked the shit out of people while looking pretty fearsome and awesome. Might have played a role in many nations adopting them for money, heraldry, symbols.

why would ancient cultures be fascinated with an alpha predator that more often than not would try and hunt them, anon?

i wouldn't go that far, but, lions being pack animals bothers me. i think cats are cool because they are solitary. being pack animals is for peasants... like d*gs.

It's the mane. Tigers are bigger, stronger and cooler, but they don't have the flowing locks.
