It's not impossible, but they must be pretty rare.
Also I'd imagine you'd be able to smell those things well before you see them, so if you ever go to look for ground sloths in the Amazon, be on the look out for rotten smells first and foremost.

If there are then they are definitely not bear sized ones like in your picture, probably more around the size of megalocnus or something.
